Greetings from the West Australian CLC

In the West we have about 40 members, predominantly in the Perth area. There are six groups operating currently, each Group has a Guide and generally meeting each fortnight. The number of groups can fluctuate yearly.

We have an ongoing formation program each year particularly for the Guides of our groups. Ongoing Ignatian Spirituality development opportunities are available for members and for the general community; eg

  • Regular Lectures are held at the Indigo Centre at St John XXIII College organised by Murray Graham.
  • WA CLC run Retreats in Daily Life.  The “Daily Life” retreat is accessible to people who are not able to spend time and money on a residential retreat.  These retreats offer many of the elements of a residential retreat but the prayer and reflection takes place in the person’s home.  They are designed to fit in with participants’ daily commitments.  It can be arranged to fit around regular activities involving family and work.  It lasts for three weeks and the retreatant meets twice a week with their spiritual companion/guide.  Guides are trained in giving the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius, and this form of retreat follows parts of the Exercises.  The retreatant also commits to approximately 30 minutes of personal prayer and reflection daily. Costs for this retreat are minimal.

In WA persons interested in making a Retreat in Daily Life may contact any of the members listed below.  They will be matched up with a guide who lives close to them.
