SUMMARY:Reflective Walk at Tomato Lake
DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by Ignatian Spirituality WA…………. Website:  ignatianspiritualitywa \nJoin us for a reflective walk at the picturesque Tomato Lake\, 27 Oats St\, Kewdale. on April 12th\, from 9.30 AM to 12.00 PM\, as we embrace the serene beauty of the Djeran season. \nDjeran\, the Noongar season occurring from April to May\, is marked by cooler weather and the blooming of wildflowers. It is a time of transition\, symbolizing the shift from the heat of summer to the crispness of autumn. The gentle breezes and mild temperatures make it an ideal period for outdoor activities and reflection. \nTomato Lake\, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of the city\, offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Surrounded by lush greenery and a diverse array of flora and fauna\, the lake provides a perfect backdrop for a peaceful walk. The well-maintained trails wind through the natural landscape\, offering stunning views of the water and the surrounding ecosystem. \n \nWhat to Expect\nThe reflective walk is designed to promote mindfulness and a deeper connection with God and  nature. Psalms 24:1: “The earth is the Lord’s\, and everything in it\, the world\, and all who live in it.” \nAs you stroll along the scenic paths\, take time to observe the intricate details of the environment—the vibrant hues of the wildflowers\, the melodic calls of the birds\, and the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze. The walk encourages participants to engage their senses fully\, fostering a sense of calm and introspection. The walk is on level ground and is not a fitness walk. \nPreparation Tips\n\nWear comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.\nBring a water bottle to stay hydrated and some lunch.\nConsider carrying a journal to jot down your thoughts and reflections.\nBring a fold up Chair for the final reflection.\nMeet opposite the Café near the carpark at 9.30 am.\n\nWe look forward to walking with you on April 12th and sharing in the peaceful moments that nature has to offer. \nRSVP to Chris Gardner 0429995591 or Jenny Gardner 0402080785 by April 5th. \nmjgard7@gmail.com

SUMMARY:PUTTING ON THE MIND OF CHRIST
DESCRIPTION:“An Introduction in to the Science and Art of Discernment” \nABOUT THE SEMINAR:\nDiscernment of spirits is the interpretation of what St. Ignatius Loyola called the “motions of the soul.” These interior movements consist of thoughts\, imaginings\, emotions\, inclinations\, desires\, feelings\, repulsions\, and attractions. Spiritual discernment of spirits involves becoming sensitive to these movements\, reflecting on them\, and understanding where they come from and where they lead us. God use these natural movements to guide us in choosing actions that conform more to God’s desires for our personal lives\, and for the good of all creation. This day’s seminar will introduce you to the science and art of discernment. It will consist of some input by Fr Iain\, some time for prayer and reflection\, and time to share with others. \nINTRODUCING THE PRESENTER:\nIain Radvan joined the Society of Jesus in 1984. After ordination he worked in several Jesuit schools as a chaplain and teacher (languages\, English literature\, and history). In 2013 he took up study in the ministry of spirituality and became the Director of Campion Centre of Ignatian Spirituality. He is now doing higher research on the transformative nature of the Spiritual Exercises through the Sydney College of Divinity though he continues to practise as a spiritual director and ministry supervisor. When not at his desk or listening to hearts Iain enjoys sailing\, gardening and spending time in Nature. \nTime: \nArrive at 9.30 for start at 10am. Location: Parish Hall\, St Patrick’s Cathedral\nSeminar: 10am to Noon – 1.00pm to 3pm Tea and coffee supplied\nPlease bring a plate to share for lunch.
