I must say, after 4 months of being cooped up, I’m only now beginning to feel the strain of not having much contact with other people, and of not getting out of the city (being an introvert delayed this reaction!). I am dreaming of some walking and camping in the bush later this year (though only in Victoria!). Such an activity is very life giving for me (finding God in Nature). I know a woman friend who had to cancel her annual retreat at Campion because of Covid. She is missing the customary graces she gets out of it greatly. But not only due to Covid – we know that the Jesuit spirituality program has undergone a metamorphosis in the last several months. If your retreat program was upset by some of these changes, I can at least offer you the new JISA calendar which has the retreats and events of all the Ignatian Centres in Australia: https://retreats.jesuit.org.au/ With hope, I am part of the planning for two larger scale spiritual events next year: the visit of Sr Kathleen Duffy (expert on T de Chardin), and the International Ignatian Ecological Conference (Cairns). So, with all the changes in our lives, have you been thinking of how you can keep up your spiritual growth?
